The Dodge Ram began life in 1981 so its history compared to the Ford F series is fairly recent. Currently manufactured out of two plants in the USA and one in Mexico.

Originally the power Ram and the D model began as the four wheel drive and two wheel drive respectfully. The old saying possibly a urban myth is if you cant Dodge it Ram it began .

Briefly the 81-93 where built on a Dodge AD platform and appeared in a variety of engines. Automatic was the go for these.

For the Australian enthusiast amongst these engine varieties were the famous 225 Hemi and the 318 Chrysler that any person over the age of 40 will remember fondly we hope . relating to the old Valiant of the 60s and early 70s.

The redesign of the 1994 Dodge Ram bought it into a recognized design and the old style was revamped into a modern style of dodge pickup. Engines here had developed and the V10 and Cummins diesel improved the toughness of this now well established brand.
